Plan It Network, Inc. is a grassroots nonprofit organization which promotes self advocacy and personal growth for individuals with developmental disabilities in a cooperative, community supported venue.
The mission of Plan It Network is to provide opportunities for members to meet new friends, to take a leadership role in planning the club’s activities, and to become valued participants in their neighborhoods through community partnerships and community service. In addition to creating social/recreational resources for its members, Plan It Network is committed to establishing and maintaining valued partnerships with local businesses and nonprofits which promote a positive and valued role for our members within their own communities.
Plan It Network was started in June 2005, with 20 individuals and a handful of volunteers representing 5 agencies who serve individuals with developmental challenges. Over the past seven years, we have hosted monthly meetings at Gus Canty Recreation Center in Falmouth, MA, with themes as varied as a 70’s costume dance, to a Latin dance demonstration to casino night. Individuals who range in age from 22 to 73 participate in the meetings to discuss news in their lives, greet new members, and plan upcoming events.
New members are always welcomed, but must be accompanied by a staff, friend or family member and must be able to participate semi-independently and treat all members with courtesy and respect. There is a $2 donation per event unless otherwise noted.
